Hariyali Fish Kebabs are the non vegetarian delight and
tempting appetizer. They are served with plain rice and spicy meat curry, which
makes one complete menu during holidays. This recipe is prepared with fish pieces. The fish
pieces are marinated in the hariyali paste made with cilantro, mint and
other distinctive flavors. Different types of vegetables like
cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, onion can be used along with fish pieces. This
recipe is cooked on the grill, but will work well in the oven. So let’s start
this delicious appetizer….
- Tilaphia / Salmon - 1lb
- Thick yogurt - 2 tbsp
- Tumeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Cherry tomatoes as required
- Onion slices as required
- Red bellpepper as required
- Bamboo skewers - 5 t0 6
- Salt to taste
To Make Green paste
- Ginger piece - 1/2 inch
- Garlic cloves - 3
- Green chillies - 3 to 4
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup
- Mint powder / Fresh mint leaves - 2 tbsp
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon stick -1 inch
- whole blackpepper - 3 to 4
- Add all the ingredients of green masala "as mentioned above" into the blender and make a smooth paste.
- Clean the fish and cut them into 2"x2" pieces. Dry them using paper towel.
- Wash the vegetables,if your using them. Dry them well.
- Add tumeric powder, cumin - coriander powder and salt to the cut pieces of the fish. Mix well.
- Then add yogurt and lemon juice.Mix well so that all the masala coats the fish pieces well.
- Add the vegetables, if your using them.Mix well and coat all the vegetable with green masala paste.
- Marinate fish pieces and vegetables by refrigerating for about 4 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Line the baking tray with aluminium foil and arrange the fish pieces and vegetables in skewers.
- Place the skewers in the baking tray and brush the fish pieces and vegetables with oil .
- Bake them for about 15 to 20 minutes or till done.
Note
- Any vegetables can be added as per your preference.
- Remember to dry the fish pieces and vegetables before marination.
- Soak the bamboo skewers into water to avoid burning.
