Chicken Biryani using coconut milk


INGREDIENTS
  • Chicken boneless pieces - 1 lb
  • Onion slices - 1cup
  • Tomato -1 small
  • Rice -1&1/2 cup
  • coconut  thick milk - 1/4 cup
  • Green chilly paste-1/2 tsp
  • Ginger paste -1/2 tsp
  • Garlic paste -1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala -1 tsp
  • tumeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder -1 tsp
  • Cilantro - a handful
  • Oil - 2tbsp
  • Cloves - 4
  • cinnamom stick - 1 inch
  • bay leaves -2
  • salt to taste

PREPARATION
Pressure cooker method
  • Place the cooker on the medium flame and add oil into it.
  • When oil heats up, add cloves,cinnamom stick and bay leaves.Fry for a minte.
  • Add onion slices and fry till light brown.
  • Add all the paste and dry masala powder.Stir well
  • Add chicken pieces , tomato pieces and cilantro.Cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Add washed rice and thick coconut milk.Add salt and stir well.
  • Add required amount of water ie( 1cup rice:2 cups water).
  • Close the lid and wait for 3 whistles.
  • Chicken Biryani is ready to serve hot.
